In 2016 beauty-related content on YouTube generated more than 5 billion views per month with the most popular content being makeup Tutorials. English Heritage wanted to capitalise on this vast audience and decided to produce their own history inspired brand of make-up tutorial.
For the first film about Elizabeth the first we helped them produce a 15 minute transformation tutorial. The film was activated on Youtube and went off with a bang, receiving over 1 million views in the first week. The view count has continued to grow and is now steadily on it’s way to 3 million views, becoming English Heritage’s most viewed film ever. The film engaged a fresh audience for English heritage and spawned a whole series of history make-up tutorials.
