Building a Ferrari SF90

Short ‘maker’ film to accompany online editorial for the official Ferrari magazine.

This was our second commission by the official Ferrari Magazine. The brief was to create a short film about the incredibly intricate process and detail that goes into handcrafting an Amalgam Collection Ferrari SF90. We know the importance of a steady hand at work, so this one felt close to our hearts.

Together with Amalgam Collection, we identified the key stages of design and construction, so that our short film highlighted the individual parts of the journey whilst keeping a consistent flow in look and feel.

We included lots of close ups to illustrate the extraordinarily precise creative process, as well as birds-eye shots to show all the tiny product parts and sharp satisfying sounds as the model comes together.

The outcome was a seamless, beautiful film which complimented the editorial and photography perfectly (although sadly no Ferrari thrown in for us!).

Meet Phil. You might find him in funny shoes, wearing a hard hat or sporting silky lycra. Phil is what we affectionately call in the industry, a ‘bike guy’. Phil cut his teeth making films for the bicycle industry, he’s forgotten more about filming 2 wheels than most of us will ever know.

Phil brings a wealth of agency experience as a producer, camera and editor.

Alex Duncan

Filmmaker

Alex is fresh-faced from the Big Smoke. In the end, Bristol’s laid-back, coffee-sipping and cider-guzzling culture proved too much of a draw (it gets them all).
Like a clock, his last job involved a lot of Tik-Tok but he’s also a master with a good story.
Multi-talented, you’ll find him out on shoots and in the studio editing.

Adam’s our partner photographer extraordinaire. He works in editorial and commercial.

He’s a ninja on shoots, there’s not a loose flash or stray lens hood anywhere to be found.

He works seamlessly in the background with the video team until it’s his turn to step up and then captures beautiful images.
